On Wednesday 3rd March I went to hear London Mayor, Boris Johnson, his team and the London Assembly speak at 'People's Question Time' at Harrow School.

The Amphitheatre setting made for a serious and thoughtful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the 'debate' only came alive when members of the public threw some difficult questions at the Mayor. The most telling policy that Boris revealed was his pledge to increase greatly the numbers of Police 'Officers' in London. I could only shake my head in disbelief. There is a huge difference, you see, between a Police 'man' or Police 'woman' and a Police 'Officer'. The former intimately knew the people in their neighbourhood on a personal level and often served as a guiding figure for those who lacked guidance from within the family had no one else who believed in them and kept them on the straight and narrow. A Police "Officer' is far different. Under 'Legalese', the language of the Law Society, an 'officers' principle task is raising revenue and imposing fines via 'statutes' after inviting you (summonsing) to their place of business (a court) to decide how much money you are to pay them. Crime is big business, not just for the criminals but for a Courts, Solicitors, Lawyers, Barristers, Judges, Prisons and Lawmakers. Do you really expect to hear the News Headline that, 'successful policing has halved crime and therefore half of the Police, Courts, Lawyers etc etc will now take the applause and backslapping and go off to find a job somewhere else'..? Putting more Police 'Officers' on the streets will not achieve anything except more Police 'Officers' on the streets. They will 'deal with' and 'tackle' crime, but will have had the necessary teeth pulled well in advance in order to prevent them doing their job and most  muggers, burglars, knife wielding gangs and thieves will get off lightly and continue impacting everyone in the community. Its just a show Boris and people are starting to see through the charade and the illusion being pulled over their eyes.
