After watching Anne Widdecombe on BBC2's The People's Politician last night it's no wonder  'the people' are fed up with 'the politicians'. Widdecombe's statement's that she would consult her constituents but not do what they said was the ultimate admission that she did not even think they were important enough to contribute. Politicians and Governments think they know what is best for you, more than you do. 'I would consult them but then I would vote on a matter in the House the way I wanted to and they could judge me on that'. Incredible..! It is dawning on politicians that it is not the people who are irrelevant - it's the politicians who are irrelevant. Remember its your tax that finances politics, it is your issues MP's are attending to and you have no influence in the outcome? If that wont make you realise you are little but slaves in your own country then what will?

The very thing that is so wrong in politics has just been played out in front of our eyes and Widdecombe absolutely, resolutely refused to give ground. 'You must vote' was the best she could do. Vote for more of the same? Its politicians who are banging their heads against a wall and leaving in droves. We are still here waiting to take over.
Town Hall meetings that are representative should make local decisions, instruct councillors to follow this through and MPs are to stand up for those decisions in Parliament regardless of the Party whip bullying MPs into submission.
